He joined The Interface Group in 1986, where he created in-house PC-based processes that were cutting edge and quickly became industry firsts, including CAD floor plans, PC-based registration and lead retrieval systems as well as the first integrated event order program with budget and inventory capability.

Paul spent several years at Reed Exhibition Companies, as Manager of Operations in Boston, where he ran 13 annual events and spearheaded initiatives in event marketing, sponsorship, and financial forecast and review. He joined ZD Events in the mid-1990’s and became the primary liaison between Finance and Event Operations when a series of mergers and a successful IPO increased the firm’s fiscal reporting needs. He continued in this capacity through several more mergers, acquisitions, restructuring and another IPO. In addition, from 1999 to 2002 he oversaw a multi-million dollar portfolio of niche conferences, an event incubator program, and custom client events.
